Ci sono attrici che in scena sanno trasformarsi, a dispetto invece di una timidezza durante le interviste, nel raccontarsi, ma che poi, quando affrontano i propri personaggi, riescono davvero a lasciare traccia. Galatéa Bellugi è una di loro. Anzi, probabilmente è uno dei talenti migliori della sua generazione, celebrata da Vogue Francia in questo senso.
Dal nuoto sincronizzato al cinema
Per lei parlano finora le scelte, le esperienze di vita, una trasversalità calibrata nel costruirsi un proprio bagaglio culturale, gli studi di danza classica e contemporanea, il nuoto sincronizzato, il sapere parlare fluentemente quattro lingue, tra cui il danese, grazie alla madre costumista, l’amore per la musica. Lo si vede e sente attraverso i film, francesi e italiani: da Gabriele Salvatores, all’ottimo Amanda di Carolina Cavalli accanto a Benedetta Porcaroli, le collaborazioni con registi come Eva Ionesco e Xavier Giannoli. Ma è Gloria!, il film di Margherita Vicario, passato in concorso alla Berlinale, l’ultima rivelazione importante nei panni di Teresa, una domestica apparentemente muta, in un istituto musicale, che poi diventa protagonista di una storia corale, suonando il pianoforte. Una storia collocata nel passato, ma in grado di connettersi al contemporaneo. Ragazze, donne dimenticate, in debito con la vita, che grazie appunto alla musica riescono a farsi sentire e vedere.
Una parigina timida e di talento
Eppure la Bellugi, nata a Parigi, dove vive, nella realtà non ama scoprire subito molto di sé, centellina parole e idee, ragiona con cura e attenzione, anche se poi qualche particolarità vera emerge a telecamere spente.
Come quando la incontriamo al Bardolino Film Festival, premiata col Premio BFF Scintilla, scoprendo dal suo porta auricolari la sua chiara passione per l’animazione, e in particolare per Hayao Miyazaki e Studio Ghibli.
Dal cinema alla musica
“Gloria!”, dice, “è stata un’esperienza molto bella per me, un lavoro interessante da fare, con le altre interpreti. È un personaggio che si fa sentire, anche se è muto per molto tempo, il film racconta queste donne dimenticate e messe da parte nella storia della musica, ed è contemporaneo sì, perché possiamo ritrovarlo in altri ambiti, siano cinema, scienza, musica”. Musica, che dopo il sassofono, strumento suonato per un paio di anni “mi piaceva al conservatorio”, la proietta in un nuovo interesse, quello appunto per il pianoforte.
Il cinema? “Una cosa bella, sto ancora provando, fare film che a me ispirano e lasciano traccia nella gente, nei personaggi, storie, mi dà voglia e speranza di continuare a fare questo mestiere, anzi è quello che vorrei fare”.
Studi all’estero e la tesi sul femminismo in Iran
“Col mio professore abbiamo analizzato la modernità”, continua a dirci, “una teoria che avevamo studiato a scuola.
“Ero stata in Iran nel 2015, mi ero appassionata del paese, ero un un po’ stranita del modo in cui lo si vedeva o conosceva, le informazioni erano poche all’inizio. Mia nonna è una giornalista, ha scritto molto, fu lei a portarmi lì”.

“Ho imparato da loro, e dalle esperienze avute, sia francesi che italiane. Come ispirazioni penso ad Alba Rohrwacher, ho amato La chimera, sarebbe bello essere diretta un giorno da Alice Rohrwacher, o magari lavorare con Lucia Mascino. Alla fine, però, sono i ruoli che non mi aspetto, e che poi mi piace fare, a sorprendermi”.
