E se bastassero 8 settimane di dieta vegana per ringiovanire? Secondo uno studio pubblicato sulla rivista BioMed Central Medicine condotto dagli scienziati di TruDiagnostic Inc. e dell’Università di Stanford, questo regime alimentare in soli due mesi aiuterebbe notevolmente a diminuire l’età biologica.
Lo studio
Sono stati coinvolte 21 coppie di gemelli identici adulti e ha evidenziato come ci sia una diminuzione dell’età biologica. Una sorta di elisir della giovinezza che proviene da una dieta esclusivamente composta da alimenti vegetali. Lo studio ha previsto delle diete diverse per le svariate coppie di gemelli. A un componente è stato chiesto di seguire una dieta comprendente tra i 170 e 225 grammi di carne, un uovo, 1,5 porzioni di latticini al giorno. L’altro componente della coppia per otto settimane ha assunto solo alimenti vegetali. L’età media dei partecipanti allo studio è di 40 anni, con un indice di massa corporea media di 26 chilogrammi per metro quadrato. Per la prima metà dello studio sono stati i stessi ricercatori a preparare i pasti esclusivamente vegetali, successivamente i partecipanti hanno seguito delle lezioni di nutrizione per poter preparare i pasti in autonomia.
I risultati strabilianti
Alla fine è stato rilevato come chi ha seguito una dieta vegana abbia avuto delle diminuzioni nelle stime dell’età biologica con un calo dell’età del cuore, degli ormoni, del fegato e dei sistemi infiammatori e metabolici. Inoltre chi ha assunto la dieta vegana ha perso due chili rispetto agli altri. Gli scienziati continueranno i loro approfondimenti per valutare la relazione tra l’alimentazione, il peso corporeo e l’invecchiamento.
